Triple token integration: $OGN, $OUSD and $OGV now live on HYVE!

Guess what we have been up to? It’s a new token integration that will help on our journey to build HYVE into a universal platform! Today, we are introducing Origin Protocol, a project that aims to unlock value in crypto-centric opportunities across the DeFi world and the NFT market.

Origin Protocol is an Ethereum-powered platform that aims to bring Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) to the masses.

Origin Protocol aims to create crypto-centric and user-friendly applications that will enable decentralized applications to rival their centralized counterparts. Origin Protocol also believes that decentralized finance, while growing, is still too cumbersome and complex for retail users. Therefore, even crypto-savvy individuals prefer alternatives like credit cards and mobile payments for ultimate convenience.

After several years of building out a decentralized e-commerce platform, the Origin Protocol project refocused its platform around NFTs and the unique experiences they can enable. Origin Protocol created a marketplace called Origin Story, a NFT Launchpad to simplify NFT issuance and put more control in the hands of creators and has hosted record-setting NFT drops including the 3LAU, Paris Hilton’s NFT drop and the original “Charlie Bit My Finger” viral video (if you like babies, you must see this video, it’s truly funny!).

For this reason, Origin Protocol has been focusing on enabling commerce on the blockchain across verticals like non-fungible tokens and decentralized finance.

$OGN is the value accrual token for the entire Origin Story suite of products. OGN holders can stake their OGN and receive 100% of the platform’s fees. Origin has also joined the DeFi space with its stablecoin, the Origin Dollar ($OUSD). Origin intends to support users, as they passively earn yield on $OUSD held in wallets – instead of being staked or locked up in a protocol.

$OGV holders can create and vote on proposals to govern the underlying protocol. This may include: allocating capital across strategies, determining the incentives offered on an ongoing basis, and adding or removing new types of yield-earning strategies.

In addition, the $OUSD protocol is already undergoing a progressive path to full decentralization. As we speak, it outlined four phases to full decentralization and are currently in phase two.

Furthermore, we are also integrating a third token from Origin, namely Origin Dollar Governance, or $OGV, acting as the governance and value accrual token for the Origin Dollar ($OUSD). The token receives 10% of all platform fees via staking, so make sure to keep an eye out!
